Just a note to personally express our thanks for the great care we received during our recent cataract Surgery.  It is unusual today to find a staff that is as kind and helpful as yours.  We realize you wouldn't want it any other way and compassion, caring, and professionalism all flow down hill. (Just like other things.) So thanks again for your expertise in surgery and directing the flow.

Dear Dr. Shugar,                                                                                                         I 've never sent a thank you note to a physician before, but this is truly deserved.  The remarkable result from my recent surgery is difficult to express.  When my friends ask "what can you see" I find it difficult to explain, since what I have I'm sure they would not be happy with.  But for me this is awesome.  I'm asking them to imagine taking a pair of eyeglasses, tinting one of the lenses about 80%, like you tint your car windows.  Take Vaseline and smear it on that dark lens.  Wear the glasses for years and years.  They are beginning to unerstand that the slightest amount of clear light I get is a blessing.  Even though the eye sees everything on a different plane from my right eye, it's crisp.  There's no dimming or darkness and having the double vision just reinforces that I have vision.  My most exciting moment happened on Thursday.  I was at the dentist and when the tech was taking an X-ray of the right side of my mouth, the vision to my right eye was blocked.  Immediately my left eye focused and I was able to see a little sign on the wall, about 7 feet away, which read "SMILE."  Thank you for providing me with not only hope, but wonderful results.
